The 5 Worst Horror Movies

As promised, here's the blog, and along with it is the first podcast from my wife and myself.  I'll let you explore it for yourself, and see if you've actually seen any of the 5 movies that Christine mentioned.  As for me, I OWN all of the movies.  Yep, she's one lucky wife...

Anyway, sit back, download, and enjoy the 15 minute discussion we have about the bad that she's had to endure.  By all means, share your five below.  Hey, that might even give me some ideas for reviews down the road...

An Introduction to "I Made My Wife Watch This!!!"

After you get past the bizarre title, you're probably asking yourself, "What on Earth is this blog about?"  (No, you're probably asking yourself, "What was I looking up to get to THIS blog??!!?")  Well, here's a little background to get you to know me.

I love movies.  I always have.  I could easily watch movies everyday, and never tire of them.  Of course, with a job and a family, that makes it a bit difficult, but I guess everyone has that issue in one way or another.

Back to the movies, though.  I can remember seeing Halloween on TV as a kid, and having the CRAP scared out of me.  I remember seeing Kingdom of the Spiders as a kid, too, at the drive-in, and having a fear of spiders that lasted for 20 years.  I remember seeing horror movie after horror movie with my mom or with my friends, and just wanting to see more and more.  My poor Dad never has and never will understand why I love movies so much.  (To his credit, or discredit, he did take me to see Police Academy and Transylvania 6-500 in the theatre as a 7-8 year old!!!)  To me, it's as entertaining as a book; there's a story to tell, and there's a million ways to tell it.

Now, I already accepted the fact that the last paragraph ensured that I didn't date in junior high.  (The sweat pants on a daily basis didn't help, either.)  BUT, when I actually did make that foray into dating, of course, that goes hand in hand with movies!!!  So, as the years went on, the girlfriends in life may have changed, but the movies?  Not in the slightest.

Let's fast forward to present day.  I am currently teaching, but of course, if you wanted to hear about that, you'd read my teaching blog.  You want to know about this site.  Why should you visit it again?  What makes it appealing?

You want to come back because you'll be getting a new perspective on these movies:  my wife's.  And she's a trooper.  We're not talking "saw Jason X with me in a theatre", but "she saw The Toxic Avenger Part IV in a theatre.  During a midnight show" kind of trooper.  I've pretty much subjected her to 10 years of bad movies, now.  She's had multiple opportunities to run to the hills screaming gibberish, but she hasn't.  So I thought it would be interesting to review some movies that we've seen, but put an emphasis on her thoughts of the movie, however negative that might be...

I'm also looking to add a podcast to this site as well.  Yes, not only can you read about the dreck I make her watch, but you can listen to it on your own mp3 player as well!  Hear the vent session in all it's glory; I'm sure you'll be entertained.

Well, expect the first review up shortly.  I'm asking my dear wife to pick the 5 worst movies I've made her sit through.  It should give you a good idea of what she deals with. (I don't think that she had this in mind during the wedding vows...)  By all means, I take suggestions for viewing as well (go Netflix!!!), so remember, the more far-fetched it is, the more adamant she likely will get.

Well, I could blabber on and on and on, but I think I'll wrap up today's intro.  There you have it.  I make my wife watch bad movies.  How bad?  Read the blog, listen to the podcast, and find out for yourself.
